[OOC] Relationships


Positive:

Tohru (OU) riceball_tohuru - Tohru reminds Shadow of Maria in many ways, which is what initially drew him to her. While Maria herself was here, Shadow's view of Tohru began to shift. He tends to regard her as a little bit weak and naive, and someone he needs to protect; however, he does respect her for her optimism and perseverance. He's also begun to realize that he finds her physically attractive - regardless, he does not return the feelings that she has for him.

Rouge (OU) consideritmine - Partners in crime, Shadow and Rouge have worked together on a number of occasions. Initially they were just using each other for their own gain, but Shadow has developed a good deal of respect for Rouge. He recognizes that she comes from an earlier point in the timeline than he does, although as of late she's begun to grow more and more into the woman he knows from his own time, which he finds comforting. She too has feelings for him, it seems, and it makes him very uncomfortable, as he values her close friendship and does not want to lose it.

Negative:

Duo (AU) spaceflyboy - Duo initially set out to befriend Shadow, or at least try to get him to lighten up. Shadow finds him extremely irritating and not funny in the slightest. Generally, Shadow will ignore him completely, but at times he still finds it necessary to prove his superiority over him with displays of overwhelming arrogance.

Econtra - Well, obviously. But Econtra limits his freedom, something he values highly. It's too small for him, it hinders his capacity for destruction, and reminds him of his treatment by GUN half a century ago. He refuses to be forced to become a weapon for human use, unless such an arrangement is negotiated on his own terms, and as this is not possible in the current situation, he wants out.

Other:

Rock (OU) digtastic - Shadow's newest roommate, Rock was a good friend of Maria's before he was sent back home. Maria herself disappeared, and Rock seemed to arrive soon after, physically replacing her in the apartment in a sense. Shadow is a little unsure how to treat the boy, for he personally doesn't care much about him, but feels as though he should appreciate the friendship that was shared between him and Maria.

No longer in Econtra:

Maria (OU) her_dying_wish - Shadow loves Maria more than he could ever express. He thinks of her as a sibling, and would do absolutely anything for her. He is still in some stage of disbelief that she's been returned to him alive and well (relatively), and is extremely overprotective of her for fear of losing her again. If someone were to harm Maria, Shadow would find a way to destroy them, regardless of the cuffs.

Sonic (OU) rushofthewind - They may banter and argue and snark at each other, but Shadow does appreciate having Sonic around. He's come to trust the little blue hedgehog more than he would probably admit, and enjoys their rivalry, even if their usual antics are somewhat hindered by the boundaries Econtra has placed on their freedom.

Mercury [PGSM] (OU) waterfell - Once upon a time, Mercury and Shadow were on good terms. Then one day, with Azula's help, Mercury stole Shadow's Chaos Emerald. She will never be forgiven.

Mephiles (AU) deathuncertain - Mephiles makes no secret of his desire to molest Shadow. Shadow does not enjoy this one bit. He considers Mephiles a distinct threat, and fears especially that he might try to hurt Maria in order to get at him.

Sonic (AU) blue_wind_hero - There's a reason these two are called "Cycleshipping". Shadow is greatly confused by this version of Sonic, who seems to oscillate widely in Shadow's opinions, from good to bad, week by week. He doesn't understand AU as well as he expects to, and frequently AU will do something to catch him off-guard, which unnerves him. Shadow appreciates that AU is somewhat calmer and more obviously thoughtful than his own Sonic, but he doesn't like AU's lack of fight. Should Shadow ever come to realize AU has a crush on him, things could get even more complicated.
